Scope of Services:
Ewaters New Zealand was commissioned by the Auckland City Government to develop a comprehensive flood risk map for the entire city of Auckland. The project aimed to address limitations in existing floodplain maps, utilizing advanced modeling technologies and GIS spatial analysis methods.
Key services included:
1. Incorporating the latest GIS tools and modeling technologies to create a more accurate floodplain extent map.2. Adopting a 20m grid size with 1m sub-grid sampling to enhance the quality of model results.
3. Improving hydrological modeling with detailed rainfall distribution and realistic scenarios based on the Unitary Plan.
4. Exporting model outputs into GIS to produce a region-wide flood raster of rural areas with cross sections and flows extracted from model results.
